God’s images and names should not be printed on cards, bags, clothes or boxes. When pictures of deities are used on commercial items, they often end up on the ground, in drains, or discarded carelessly. Such usage must be stopped.
How Does It Disrespect God’s Name and Image?
1. Use in Wedding Cards and Invitations
Wedding cards should contain only essential details like the bride and groom’s names, the wedding date, and other necessary information. There is no need to include images of divine marriages, such as Parvati-Shiva, Radha-Krishna, or Sita-Ram, because these cards eventually get discarded in the trash.
2. Posters and Promotional Materials
Posters featuring God and revered saints are often used for promotions. However, when outdated, they are torn down and replaced with new ones. These torn posters end up in drains or littered on the streets. Our selfishness has corrupted our wisdom, leading to societal degradation.
3. Printing God’s Name on Bags and Packaging
For instance, a bag with “Radhe Shyam” written on it is used to carry shoes. Neither the one printing it nor the one using it realizes the disrespect involved.
4. Use on Pan Masala And Tobacco Packets
Packets of pan masala and gutkha often bear divine names like “Radha.” These discarded packets are found littered everywhere, even in drains. People unknowingly step on them, disrespecting God’s name.
5. Careless Use of Idols and Images
God’s images are often seen lying on the ground. Small idols of Ganesh and Lakshmi are placed under trees and left unattended. The Lakshmi idols worshipped with devotion on Diwali are discarded by the next Diwali, showing negligence in handling sacred items.
How Can Society Improve in This Matter?
1. Self-Awareness
If we stop buying and using such items, this trend will gradually fade away. Awareness begins with individuals making conscious choices.
2. Business Community
Manufacturers should understand that using God’s name and images for commercial purposes is inappropriate. They must take responsibility and avoid such practices.
3. Printing and Designing Industry
Those involved in printing cards, posters, and promotional materials play a crucial role. They should refuse to print such designs and promote alternatives that do not misuse holy names and images.
Conclusion
Improvement in this matter is possible only when people take it seriously. If we want to preserve our faith, we must respect God’s name and image. As followers of Sanatan Dharma, we must protect the sanctity of our deities and religious values.
