Brahmacharya Is the Supreme Austerity
Brahmacharya is the highest form of austerity. There is no greater penance than this. One who preserves his semen is like a god on earth, even if he appears in human form. But unfortunately, today we have forgotten this truth and live as slaves to base desires. Look at the contrast: our ancestors were strong, radiant, and endowed with self-control, and we, in comparison, have become weak, lacking inner strength, and careless in wasting our vital energy. The difference is as vast as the sky and the land. And if there is one root cause behind this deep downfall, it is the abandonment of brahmacharya.
Brahmacharya Is the Foundation of Health and Life
Our complete downfall has its roots in the destruction of brahmacharya. Our happiness, health, radiance, intelligence, strength, inner power, freedom, and even our very duty — all these rest entirely upon the foundation of brahmacharya.
Brahmacharya is the bedrock of a healthy body. Just as a building collapses when its foundation is broken, likewise, when our semen is lost, our body too quickly becomes weak and diseased.
As brahmacharya declines, so does our health, gradually but surely. One who wastes his semen cannot remain healthy for long. But one who guards it carefully is never a victim of untimely death. To speak the truth, brahmacharya is life itself, and the loss of semen is death. Without brahmacharya, there can be neither true happiness nor lasting success under any circumstances.
Brahmacharya Is the Root of Happiness, Liberation, and Greatness
Brahmacharya is the foundation of all joy, both in this world and the next. It is the root of the four aims of human life: righteousness, prosperity, desire, and liberation. It is through brahmacharya that true liberation is attained.
semen is not something ordinary — it is immensely precious. By its power, a human being can rise to divine heights. And with its loss, he falls into degradation. No one can attain true greatness or a noble position without brahmacharya. One who does not preserve his virya (semen) can never become a truly righteous soul, a saintly being, or a pure spirit.
