The thought of leaving everything and running away comes up because it is easy to say something but difficult to fulfil. The family has many kinds of needs and demands. If you run away and go somewhere else, will you be problem-free there? There will be problems there, too. How much can you run away? There is no place where there are no problems.
Deal With Maya Wherever You Are
Wherever you run, the entire world is filled with the qualities of Maya. The problem is that no place is problem-free. If you become problem-free where you are, there will be no problems for you anywhere. You should stay where you are, fight and conquer Maya. Everyone must suffer their karma. You can help others to the best of your ability, but after that, be detached and leave it up to God.
The Story of Narsi Mehta: The Importance of Leaving Your Burdens to God
The discussion about Narsi Mehta’s son’s marriage came up. He said, “I have nothing but my Thakur ji”. The girl’s family said, “That’s why we are marrying into your family because God loves you so much, and you love God so much.” Narsi Mehta replied, “We are poor; you are from a wealthy family; marry your daughter into a wealthy household.” The girl’s family insisted, “There’s no one greater than you, whoever is dear to God is great for us.” They persisted and arranged the marriage. Narsi Mehta said, “I won’t attend the wedding; I can’t leave the service of my lord”. God appeared and told Narsi Mehta, “I will take care of everything; you just tie a turban and attend the event as the father of the groom.” Narsi Mehta refused this as well, saying, “I can’t even do that.” God arranged the entire wedding. When we take on the burden ourselves, God becomes carefree, and when we leave the burden to God, He takes care of everything.
Don’t worry too much; worrying won’t solve anything, but remembering the lord will. Chant the holy name, Radha-Radha. Just be an observer of what the lord is doing in your life. This world is full of illusions; this is the only way to conquer it.
Lord Ram’s Exile: Accepting Life’s Ups and Downs
King Dashrath died in agony because lord Ram was to be crowned in the morning, but he was exiled for fourteen years. King Dashrath did not wish that Ram would go into exile. He thought Ram should sit on the throne, and he would be happy to see him. There was a lot of excitement in the whole of Ayodhya that Ram would become the king tomorrow. But the morning brought terrible news. Everyone was dying, thinking how Lord Ram would live in exile for fourteen years. The prince, who used to walk even four steps in a palanquin till today, will be exiled barefoot. This is how this world works. You keep chanting the holy name of the world and just be a witness to whatever the lord is doing in your life. Keep doing whatever God makes you do, and leave the rest to Him.
Example of Gopis Of Vrindavan: Loving God While Taking Care Of All Duties
If you depend on God, you can get out of Maya. Otherwise, Maya has trapped even the great sages and made them forget God. That is why the glory of the Gopis of Vrindavan is that even while living with the family, they did not stop thinking about lord Krishna even for a moment. They used to do all the services of their house. That is why great men like Shukdev Ji, Uddhav Ji, etc., also keep the dust of their feet on their foreheads. It is very rare to become intoxicated in the love of lord Krishna while doing all your duties.
Surrender to God’s Will
There is no need to run away. Chant God’s name all the time wherever you are, and keep in mind that only what the Lord wants will happen. You are trying; it’s fine. If he wants to keep you hungry, you should also be content. Things happening as per your wish; this has never happened to anyone in this world.
As soon as Lord Krishna was born, He left His mother, Devaki. Then, He left His mother, Yashoda, and came to Mathura. He then went to Dwarka from Mathura. God is showing that such is the order of the universe. Sometimes, there is victory; sometimes, there is defeat; sometimes, there is happiness; sometimes, there is sorrow; sometimes, there is profit; and sometimes, there is loss. This will keep going on. You just need to chant the holy name of the lord with patience.
