Things like negativity in the family and quarrels happen in every house. This is not happening only with you. This is a common problem. Without self-studying the scriptures, good conduct, chanting of God’s name and respect for others, quarrels will remain in every house. Parents should be respected, but they are being disrespected. Some parents also do not respect the feelings of their children. Some fathers exploit their children instead of nurturing them. Today, every house is getting ruined due to anti-scriptural conduct. It is rare to find a house in which there is love between husband and wife, love between father and son, love between brothers. There is only unrest everywhere.
Why Do Quarrels Happen In The Family?
Quarrel happens when our happiness is hindered. We should learn to calm ourselves. If we try to calm others, anger and discord will increase even more. If we learn to calm ourselves, we can avoid discord. We are unable to eliminate discord because the intellect is becoming impure. Our youth cannot become ideal householders because of the wrong practices they engage in. Our instincts are inadvertently making us habituated to wrong practices. Today, we make a lover; after a few days, we break up and go off with someone else. When we enter married life with these strong tendencies, they do not allow us to live peacefully. Will that house be full of discord, or will it be peaceful? That house will only be full of discontent.
Quarrel Of The Mind
Our demands and desires have increased, and our love is not focused in one place; therefore, unrest is certain. Only those who follow Dharma are saved from all this. Such people chant the holy name daily, listen to the discourses of saints, and study the scriptures. Discord is not only outside us but also inside our minds. Our mind is pulling us towards pleasures. Check for yourself whether your mind is peaceful.
To be free from discord means to have no conflict of thoughts, to have no desires, and to feel satisfied and blissful. But this is neither within nor outside our body. This can only happen if we follow Dharma, take shelter of God, chant the holy name and follow the right conduct. If our body is impure, our senses and mind will remain impure. If our senses and minds remain impure, our thoughts will remain impure. Now, when the thoughts are impure, the mind is impure, the senses are dirty, and the body is impure, who will get peace and happiness? Then, our nature will become irritable and bitter.
Reform Your Life And Give The Right Education To The Children
Our hearts are burning. Chant Radha Radha, inspire your children to do the same. Teach them to have good conduct also. This will make them good householders in the future. Otherwise, children deprived of the right education get trapped in their egos. When parents do not teach their children to have a connection with God, they do not follow the rules of the scriptures, which leads to vices like jealousy and restlessness. Chaos arises in their lives. Chanting the name, studying the scriptures, and hearing Satsang are necessary to live life in order.
The Lord resides in everyone’s heart. It is equally necessary to worship Him. Serve everyone, seeing our Lord in everyone. But this is difficult because dirty behaviour has increased these days. Young children are drunk; how will their minds allow them to make the right decisions later on? During festivals, children roam around drunk on the streets. Is this the right way to celebrate festivals? Festivals mean that people sit together, chant the name, and eat food offered to the Lord. This purifies the intellect and life. Demonic behaviour is increasing these days. Drinking alcohol, creating terror on the streets, and misbehaving are now common. All this is taking our society in the wrong direction.
