If there is faith in the words of the Guru, God can be easily attained. There was a simple devotee. He never listened to any spiritual discourses. He was a shepherd and used to graze cows. One day, his friends said you should listen to spiritual discourses sometimes; you keep roaming around animals day and night, and you have become like an animal. Listen to the spiritual discourses sometimes.
After this, he decided to hear a spiritual discourse one day. In the spiritual discourse, it was discussed that the life of a person who has taken birth as a human and not taken the Guru Mantra and has not chanted the holy name of God is useless; such a person is like a dead person. He went home after listening to this. Now, this thing was coming to his mind again and again that the life of a person who has not taken the Guru Mantra and has not chanted the name is like a dead person.
jinh haribhagati hrdayan nahin aanee
jeevat sav samaan tei praani
jo nahin karai raam gun gan
jeeh so daadur jeeh samaana
Those who have not given place to devotion to God in their hearts are like dead beings while still alive. The tongue that does not sing the praises of Lord Ram is like the tongue of a frog.

Desire To Get Guru Mantra
The next day, he again went to listen to the spiritual discourse, and after meeting Pandit Ji, he said that you said in the story yesterday that without taking Guru Mantra, life is like that of a dead person. You only give me Guru Mantra. Pandit Ji avoided it and said that if we meet on the last day of the discourse, I will give you the Guru Mantra. On the last day of the discourse, Pandit Ji was going for defecation. He was eager to get Guru Mantra and followed Pandit Ji. He said Pandit Ji, you have been making me wait for so many days, now give me Guru Mantra. Pandit Ji had to go for defecation, so he scolded him and said, “Dhat Gapochan” (an ordinary insult word).
Result Of Chanting Guru Mantra With Faith
He thought it was the Guru mantra; he said “Jai Gurudev”, and after paying his respects to the Pandit, he went home. Coming home, he told his family, “From today onwards, I will stop grazing cows; I have the Guru mantra. I will just chant; my life will not be like that of a dead person.” He sat down and started chanting “Dhat Gapochan”. There is neither God’s name nor mantra in the words “Dhat Gapochan”. He became so devoted that he kept on chanting this all the time. Lord Krishna, who does not come into the meditation of great sages, is easily found by simple and innocent devotees. Harivansh Mahaprabhu has also said in Shri Hit Chaurasi Ji:
muni man dhyaan dharat nahin paavat, karat vinod sang baalak bhat
daas anany bhajan ras kaaran, (jay shree) hit harivansh pragat leela nat
Shrihit Chaurasi Ji, Verse 64
Lord Krishna’s Affection For His Devotee
Lord Krishna was watching this and told Rukmini ji, let’s meet a devotee today. Rukmini ji said, after a long time, today, you have remembered a devotee; he must be a great devotee. She went with the Lord in ordinary attire. When both of them went to the village, the Lord told Rukmini ji to go and meet him first. That devotee sat and chanted, “Dhat Gapochan, Dhat Gapochan”. Rukmini Ji wondered which name of the Lord this was. This name is not present either in Vishnu Sahasranama or in Gopal Sahasranama. She called out and asked him whose name he was chanting. He kept on chanting and remained silent. She asked again, whose devotion are you doing? After asking two or three times, he got angry and angrily replied, “Your husband’s”.
Rukmini ji returned and told the Lord, “He is a very knowledgeable devotee. I had gone there stealthily, but still he recognised me”. God said, yes, that is why we have come to see him.
God’s Childhood Name
Rukmini ji told God that you can see that devotee later. First, tell me which name of yours was he chanting. God said that I like this name very much. This is my name given in Braj. I was named this by my mother. One day, I secretly ate and fed butter to my friends. Meanwhile, Mother and Gopis came, and they said, “Kanhaiya, what are you doing?”
Now I saw that we were trapped. I said, Mother, I saw ants in the butter. So, I was removing the ants. Mother said; your whole hand is smeared with butter. I told her the ants went inside the butter pot, so I also had to put my hand in the pot. Then Mother asked how did the butter get on my face. I said that a fly was flying again and again and disturbing me, so I tried to kill it with my hand, and the hand with butter got on my face. Mother understood that I was hiding my theft, and she said, “Dhat Gapochan”. This was the name she gave me.
Conclusion: Have Faith In The Words Of The Guru And Follow His Orders
When an illiterate man spoke a simple word by believing in the Guru’s words, he met the Lord. God is the lord of all the worlds, all-powerful and omniscient; he is present in every letter. He, too, chants the name of Radha. The name of Radha is the source of ultimate love. When that person chanted “Dhat Gapochan” with faith, Rukmini ji and Lord Dwarkadhish came to see him. If you chant Radha-Radha with faith, then will you not get to see God? Therefore, do not doubt the worship offered by the Guru and chant Radha-Radha.
